Five fibres,
one gap to close
Seven in ten Indians fall short of their daily fibre, and nine in ten do not know how much they need. Not because they eat badly, but because the foods a normal day is made of carry almost none. The answer is not a new food. It is the foods people already love, with fibre fitted in so well that nobody notices. FIBREDEX® is one family of five fibres, each made to fit a different food, a different process and a different health goal.
The fibre a normal day gives you is not enough, and most of India does not know
Fibre is having its moment. Searches hit an all-time high in 2026, gut health is a top-two food trend worldwide, and sugar is being taxed and labelled out of the Indian basket. The gap is real, and it is a formulation problem before it is a consumer one.

Straits Research 2025, IMARC 2025Five fibres, five places to work
Fibre is defined by what it refuses to do: get digested. After that, each of the five does something different, at a different point along the gut. Follow the line.
Taste first. Polydextrose and resistant dextrin are close to neutral. Inulin, XOS and GOS bring a soft sweetness.
Acid test. Resistant dextrin and XOS stay intact at pH 2. Polydextrose and GOS hold in most drinks. Inulin prefers neutral systems.
All five pass through undigested. That is what makes them fibre, and why they count towards a fibre claim.
Short chains ferment first. XOS, GOS and short-chain inulin feed bifidobacteria early, at small doses.
Long chains travel further. Long-chain inulin, resistant dextrin and polydextrose ferment slowly along the way, gently.
One family, five specialists
Same space, same depth, rotating start. There is no flagship here. Every fibre in this family is the first choice somewhere.
A family works in pairs
The most documented pairing in nutrition. Short-chain GOS feeds the near end of the colon, long-chain fructans reach the far end. Eighteen infant trials and counting.
Polydextrose brings bulk, body and 1 kcal per gram. Resistant dextrin brings clarity and acid and heat stability. Together: high fibre, low viscosity, low calories.
Bulk fibres need 15 to 25 g a day for a bifidogenic effect. Add 1.4 to 2.8 g of XOS and the prebiotic claim fits without changing the formula.
Fitted in, not added on
Every food asks something different of a fibre. Here is where each of the five fits, and why. There are no winners, only fits. The full Fibre Fit Finder scores all five against your category, goal, pH and process.
Fit is a starting point, not a spec. Every formula gets checked in the JJD application lab before it ships.
